Double World Supersport Points for Oli Bayliss

The Autodrom Most delivered drama and unpredictability across the fifth round of the 2025 FIM Supersport World Championship, but PTR Triumph Racing emerged with clear signs of progress, determination, and front-running potential.
Race One saw Oli Bayliss deliver his best finish since the season opener at his home race in Phillip Island. The young Australian carved his way through the field from 17th on the grid to secure a hard-fought ninth place. In a race where several leading riders crashed out, Bayliss stayed calm amid a fierce mid-pack battle, climbing as high as sixth before a small mistake dropped him back to ninth across the line. His ride showcased his growing confidence and steps forward in race pace.
Tom Booth-Amos started from eighth after a tricky qualifying session in changeable conditions. He immediately made progress into the top seven and was locked in battle with eventual race winner Jaume Masia. Unfortunately, a crash at Turn 16 ended his charge on lap four.
Race Two saw both PTR Triumph riders fight back for solid points. Booth-Amos climbed to fifth and, for a time, was the fastest rider on track. In the final laps, he slipped back and crossed the line in a respectable ninth, collecting more crucial points. Bayliss, despite serving a double long lap penalty for a jump start, fought his way up to finish 12th, gaining five positions and salvaging valuable points.
Despite the DNF in Race One, Booth-Amos retains third in the overall championship standings, with Bayliss now 14th. The team continues to push forward as the season approaches its halfway mark.
Next up is Misano for Round 6, taking place 13–15 June.
Oli Bayliss #32:
“I had a decent race yesterday. I had really good pace halfway through but the end was chaotic. Although after the past few weekends, it felt good to have a positive result. Then today, I was a bit disappointed after that one. I was feeling really good on the bike and the pace is showing. Two long lap penalties didn’t help us at all, so I was really kicking myself. We’ll try again in Misano to maximise our potential. Thanks to my team and sponsors.”
Tom Booth-Amos #69:
“I made a good start in race one and felt strong, but the front chatter caught me out. It was unlucky, but we reset ready for today. I was feeling pretty good with about six laps to go and I don’t know why but we just got really bad chatter and I just brought the bike home and got as many points as possible. Not the best weekend but we look forward to Misano.”
