Dessoy Doubles up with Second Sportbike Win on the Triumph Daytona 660

Two weeks ago Harrison Dessoy took his first National Sportbike Championship victory at Thruxton, and today he did it again with a second consecutive victory, this time at Cadwell Park.
Right from the start of the Bank Holiday race weekend Dessoy set the pace aboard his PHR Performance Triumph Daytona 660, leading the combined practice times by just under 0.2seconds.
He then translated that to second on the grid in Sunday’s qualifying. Amid blazingly hot conditions, Monday’s warm-up saw weekend-long rivals Ash Barnes and Dessoy nearly a full second clear of the rest of the field, but ultimately it was Dessoy who was able to convert that into race pace.
Whilst Barnes was out of the race on the opening lap, Dessoy wasted no time in converting his pace into a runaway victory, gapping the rest of the field by over eight seconds in a dominant display, including setting a new lap record, as he rides the crest of his wave of momentum.
Today’s victory closes him to within 52 points of the Championship lead with four races and a potential 100 points remaining.
Meanwhile, Rhys Stevenson (Rocket Racing) came home seventh as next best Triumph, ahead of Jayden Martin (Triumph Macadam Factory) in eighth on their pair of Daytona 660 machines. Martin’s Triumph Macadam Factory teammate Lewis Smart finished 12th, just behind CD Racing by PHR’s Cameron Dawson, and Brodie Gawith finished his weekend 19th.
The championship returns to Donington Park on 5-7 September for the eighth round.
Harrison Dessoy - PHR Performance Triumph:
“A great end to a brilliant weekend here at Cadwell Park and to win at the team's home round was absolutely fantastic! We’ve had strong pace all weekend and to take the win by eight seconds is absolutely fantastic. We’ve got a boost of confidence heading into final few rounds of the season coming off the win at Thruxton as well, it was absolutely fantastic so I'm very, very pleased with that. I look forward to cracking on with the last three rounds at Donington, Oulton and Brands Hatch; we’ve closed the gap in the championship now, and it's definitely something that's still on the cards. I'm looking forward to seeing how the final few stages of the season goes, and I think me and the PHR team are in a good spot at the moment, we’ll continue pushing with the form we’re on and hope to have a strong end to the 2025 season.”
Jayden Martin - Triumph Macadam Factory:
“Overall, the Cadwell weekend has been positive, today in the race I finished eighth to secure one of my best results in BSB. We’ve been not too far away over the weekend, I’m feeling comfortable with the bike and was 11th in both free practices. In qualifying we made a small change, but I dropped my time and qualified 11th. I had a small slide in this morning’s warm-up at Hall Bends, thanks to the team for a fantastic job getting it back together for the race. During the first lap of the race, I ran onto the grass, which sent me back a few places, but I worked my way back to finish eighth.”
Lewis Smart - Triumph Macadam Factory:
“We had a strong start to the weekend finishing fifth in FP1, I was happy with the bike setup, and we made a little change for FP2 where we went faster again and finished 10th in combined practice. I felt good going into qualifying and put in my fastest time of the weekend, but it wasn’t enough to get me on the front four rows. I started from 13th and knew I had a bit of work to do in the race; however, I got a good start and worked my way up to ninth. Towards the end I got a bit beaten up on track and had to avoid another riders’ mistake, which sadly cost me two positions. But that’s racing, we had a better weekend overall than the last few rounds and we’re making steps in the right direction, which is the main thing.”
Brodie Gawith - Triumph Macadam Factory:
“The weekend started off well but unfortunately, I made the wrong move in FP2 and ended up going backwards. Going into qualifying, I improved my lap time by a second, but it still wasn’t enough to put me in a good spot, and I qualified 24th. For the race, we made a few changes to the setup, which took me a while to get used to, but I finished 19th and managed to improve my lap time again by half a second. Overall, the weekend was OK, it felt at times like we were one session behind, but we made some positive steps towards the end and have somethings to take with us to the next round.”
Katie Hand - Triumph Macadam Factory:
"My Cadwell weekend has been a little disappointing sadly, I missed out on a qualifying spot by just one place and very little time. We do have positives to take away as I took over two seconds off my best lap time; I really did give it my all, just it wasn't meant to be this weekend."
