Camden Mclellan Battles Hard for Seventh at MXGP Round 16

Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing’s Camden McLellan has claimed seventh overall at the MXGP of Sweden. Racing at the Uddevalla circuit for the 16th round of the MX2 World Championship, McLellan delivered improving race results, finishing seventh in race one before claiming fifth in race two. Guillem Farres posted similar finishes to his teammate, placing ninth and sixth across the two races for ninth overall.
Two weeks on from his overall podium result in Belgium, Camden headed to Uddevalla focused on more success. Placing fourth in the qualifying race underlined his speed on the hardpack, giving him confidence ahead of Sunday’s Grand Prix races.
After a strong start aboard his TF 250-X in the opening moto, McLellan battled for a place inside the top five before being pushed back to seventh by mid-race. As the laps wound down, the 21-year-old put pressure on Mathis Valin in sixth, but was unable to find a way by his rival.
Another impressive start in race two set McLellan up for an improved result. However, with the circuit now quite dry and offering very few passing opportunities, there was little to separate the riders, and Camden held fifth for the entire moto. In finishing fifth, McLellan secured seventh on the day and continues to hold sixth in the championship standings.
Farres started both races just inside the top 10, which left the Spaniard with a lot of work to do. In the first race, he could only reach ninth at the finish. Regrouping for race two, Guillem delivered a spirited charge through the opening couple of laps to move up to sixth behind McLellan. Despite his best efforts, he couldn’t quite reel his teammate in and crossed the line in sixth for ninth overall. Leaving Sweden, Guillem remains ninth in the series with four rounds remaining.
From the hardpack of Sweden, the team now heads to the sand circuit of Arnhem in the Netherlands next weekend for round 17 of the 2025 MX2 World Championship.

“This weekend has been okay. Not great, but not too bad. I felt awesome on the bike and strong all weekend, and my starts were good too. I just lacked the intensity needed on the first few laps of each race, and unfortunately, this affected my results. Overall, it was alright, though, and now it’s back to the sand in the Netherlands next weekend.”
Guillem Farres
“My starts held me back this weekend. One positive is that I was able to make passes, especially as this track is difficult to pass on. I should have been higher overall today, and like always, I tried my best. The goal for the upcoming races is to be back nearer the front, and I’ll be working on my starts this week to be better.”
Vincent Bereni – Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing Team Manager
“The MXGP of Sweden wasn’t the best for the team, but we learned a lot. Both riders had good pace on Saturday and their qualifying race results were solid. In the Grand Prix races, Camden had good starts in both, but in the first moto, he made a few unfortunate mistakes early on. But he kept pushing to the end and never gave up. In the second race, he started third but got moved back to fifth, and then when the race settled down, he was just out of touch with the riders in front of him to make any passes. Guillem was ninth in race one and rebounded in race two for sixth, which was a strong end to the GP for him. Both riders had the speed on Saturday, but weren’t quite the same on Sunday, so this is something to work on as we near the end of the season.”
