Fighting Fourth for Stapleford in Tough Knockhill Weekend

Round 4 of the British Supersport Championship unfolded at Knockhill under the characteristically wet and unpredictable Scottish skies. The Macadam Triumph Factory Racing team fielded a sole rider for the weekend—Championship leader Luke Stapleford—while teammate Max Wadsworth remained sidelined as he continues his recovery from recent arm pump surgery.
Stapleford qualified second for Saturday’s race, which was declared wet. Although he dropped back to seventh in the early laps, he delivered a determined ride in the treacherous conditions to fight his way back up to a strong fourth-place finish.
However, despite making solid progress through the pack, his fastest lap left him 14th on the grid for Sunday’s feature race—setting up a challenging task ahead.
The former British Supersport Champion got off to a lightning start, gaining several positions, but was unfortunately caught out on the opening lap while pushing to make up ground and crashed out of contention.
The Macadam Triumph Factory Racing team will return to action at Brands Hatch, 25 - 27 July.
Luke Stapleford #8: “ Saturday's race was good, we made the safe call with tyres and finished the top rider on full wets for solid points. Sunday was just my fault. We would have had solid points too but that’s racing. I’ll be back stronger at brands“
