1) How long have you worked for Triumph?

20 years.

2) What education did you have prior to working for Triumph?

I started at Triumph straight from school with 9 GCSE’s.

3) Why did you choose to work for Triumph?

My dad and grandad both worked for Triumph when it was at Meriden and Triumphs have been a big part of my family history.

4) Where else have you worked within Triumph?

I started my apprenticeship in the Maintenance department before moving into the Assembly department then moved over into Design around 14 years ago.

5. What work do you get involved in on a day-to-day basis at Triumph?

We carry out a lot of the electrical testing, this can involve static testing or supporting the testing off site at various test facilities. We also investigate any electrical issues or help set up testing of individual components.

6. What role do you have within your team at Triumph and how do they help you?

I am an Electrical Development Technician and I look after the bikes and get them set up for testing. Our team has a lot of knowledge in various areas so we all help each other out when we are unsure. There is not a lot we cannot do when it comes to the bikes!

7. What do you like best about Triumph?

Obviously it has to be the bikes! We make some really amazing bikes, but it is the whole workforce that makes this happen and it is a great environment to work in. Getting to ride the bikes in amazing locations is an incredible perk too!

8. How have you progressed whilst working at Triumph?

Working in the teams that Triumph have has really helped me progress in all areas of my personal and professional progression. There is a lot of talented staff on site that are always willing to help and the bikes we now make are a display of that.

9. What did the recruitment process involve when you applied to work at Triumph?

I applied for the apprenticeship role just after I had turned 16, but then the factory burnt down just after I had applied, so I thought that was the end of that! Triumph then contacted me only a couple of weeks later, I had an interview in a portacabin as the factory was destroyed and I got offered the job!

10. Describe Triumph in 3 words

Energetic, dedicated, cool.
