New Young Star Joins Team HARIBO

HARIBO, the UK’s leading gums and jellies brand, has announced that Tommy Dale (18) will join Team HARIBO Starmix, the young Triumph motorcycle race team, to ride alongside Alex Olsen on Triumph’s Daytona 675 in the 2012 National Junior SuperStock 600 Championship. 

Although 2012 will be his first year in a National championship at BSB, Tommy has been competing in motorsport since the age of six and first raced a Mini-Moto bike back in 1999.  

This year, Tommy competed in the Triumph Triple Challenge (TTC).  He took third place and won TTC’s Merit Award for his performance, but instead of accepting the proposed Merit prize of another season in the TTC, Tommy has decided to step up to the National SuperStock 600 Championship at BSB 2012.  

Tommy will train and race Triumph’s supersport machine alongside HARIBO team mate Alex Olsen, 19.  This duo competed together as Young Guns in the TTC back in 2009; the season ended with Tommy winning the final race and Alex finishing a close second.

Alex finished fourteenth in the 2011 National Superstock 600 Championship, behind ex-team mate Johnny Blackshaw who finished the season in seventh.
