big triumph ride-in

Join Bevan's Motorcycles' Cardiff RAT Pack for a "Big Triumph Ride-In" to the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum near New Milton, in Hampshire's New Forest, on Sunday 31st July 2011.

We plan for participating RAT Packs to meet at a suitable place near to Sammy's Museum (this is likely to be the Rising Sun Pub BH25 5SF, off the A35) at 11.30 a.m. and then have a big ride-in to the Museum. Sammy has agreed to get the BBQ going for lunch from 12 noon and it looks likely that he will fire-up some of the museum bikes for us on the day. There will be a raffle for some of the Museum's latest books, with proceeds to a local charity and the opportunity for a group photo shoot at the Museum, with all the Pack flags on show!

The Museum houses the finest collection of fully restored motorcycles in Europe, including factory racers and exotic prototypes, plus memorabilia spanning seven decades of motorcycling for sport and pleasure. There are nearly 400 rare and classic motorcycles on display in four galleries.

Unlike most other museums, this is more than a static collection of motorcycles; indeed, whenever the opportunity presents itself these machines are run in classic bike events of one kind or another. Many of the racing machines are still fully competitive and capable of giving a good account of themselves in high speed parades. Like any good museum, the contents are changing constantly. Apart from the motorcycles on display you will also see many interesting artifacts, all of which represent a link with motorcycling of a by-gone era.

The Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum is located at Bashley Cross Roads, New Milton, Hampshire, BH25 5SZ, just 15 miles west of Southampton and 10 miles east of Bournemouth. There is a cafe on site for lunch, but as mentioned above, Sammy's staff will put on a barbecue for us.

Normal price entry to the Museum is £5.90 per adult, but Sammy will offer us a concessionary rate of £4 per person for all Triumph riders.
